I don’t love emoji. I’m of the generation that still thinks of them as “emoticons”… I’m not sure when the shift to “emoji” came, but it would seem that I wasn’t paying attention when it happened.
My niece loves emoji. Boy, does she love emoji – “Unkie, you need to get emoji for your phone!”
Turns out my phone has emoji on it… but that’s neither here nor there.
Anyways, a while ago I decided that I wanted to create some t-shirts. I had one that I planned to make (and still do… stay tuned!), but then I had a flash of inspiration.
It was something to do with “emoji”, and it was going to be a lot of fun! After a quick sketch, I cracked open Illustrator and made it happen.
Fun little trifle. I got my Society6 account up and running, and created a clutch of files that could be made available in the shop…
I gotta say, I’m really impressed with the site. A friend had suggested it to me last year, and while I glanced at it, I wasn’t at the place where I was ready to start delving into apparel merchandising, so I never explored it. Now, though… wow, very cool.
So… I don’t love emoji. My niece loves emoji… and this particular batch of merchandise was inspired by by her. Turns out, she loves them.
I think I know where I’ll be doing my Christmas shopping.
