Ye Olde Sketchbook

This is ancient stuff. A quarter century old. But, you can see the roots of my modern digital art in what I was doing back then. And of course my love of Dungeons And Dragons shines through… many of these artworks either came from a campaign I was playing with my brother and friends or the important releases of the time like the Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance novels. I’d play again with some of these fantasy textures in some of my Bowl For Kids Sake themes twenty years later.

What’s with the missing feet in so many drawings? It started with the Dwarf… my brother’s character in my campaign. I started it too low on the page but I liked the attitude that I captured, so rather than scrap it, I just made it the style for the rest of the images.

What’s with the small hands? I don’t know.

The colourful cover image was a digital upgrade I would give the original sketch decades after drawing it.
