The Dragons

So I started out wanting to illustrate a dragon to put up on TeePublic… while gathering up resources and laying out some textures, I started playing with Photoshop and found that a particular effect I could do really rendered everything down to an illustrative style I loved.

So, it started here.

Wasn’t quite there, so I kept developing it. And it turned into this…

Like I’d do with the Skulls later, I played with three versions (basically) – shadows on a lighter shirt, highlights on a dark shirt, and a shadows and highlights on any colour shirt. I personally love the red dragon on black shirt, but I’ve gotten the most sales so far of the larger one above – shadows and highlights with the yellow eyes.

Any Dungeons and Dragons player knows that there’s more than just a red dragon, so I made available a few more of the chromatic variety.

I then continued refining how I was putting them together and made a second dragon model. A lot more brutish and nasty than the first one.

I personally prefer the first one, but hey… it is what it is. Sometimes you just get “it” and when trying to make something different, it ends up… different.

I’ll be doing some paid advertising soon on Facebook and Instragram, see if I can’t drum up some interest. Especially with the D&D movie opening soon. Don’t want to miss that window.

Actually made a fun little animation that I posted in Instagram. Nothing too complex…. just wanted something animated to catch a bit of attention.
